Ridgemont Joins Claude for Education Pilot
Beginning with the 2026–2027 academic year, Ridgemont will participate in Anthropic’s Claude for Education program, which provides secure classroom access to the Claude family of AI assistants for approved K–8 and higher-education institutions. Grade 5 homeroom teacher Mr. Vinh H. Nguyen will coordinate classroom implementation and faculty training, with first-year use centered in Middle School English and U.S. history under the direction of Ms. Hayes and Mr. Whitcombe.
“We are approaching this deliberately and with our eyes open,” Dr. Halloran said. “Our students will learn to use these tools as thoughtful writers and thinkers use any tool — carefully, honestly, and with their own voice always in the lead.”
Faculty will complete a three-day summer institute in August before the program begins. Families will receive detailed information at the September Parent Night, and a written policy will be added to the Student & Family Handbook.
